VELscope
VELscope is an oral cancer screening system that works by using fluorescence visualization. Fluorescence visualization helps detect cancerous and potentially cancerous lesions, even other lesions that might not be apparent to the naked eye. The VELscope is approved by the FDA for cancer detection.
Zeiss Phase Contrast Video Microscope
We offer a complimentary screening of each patient’s dental plaque and saliva under the phase contrast microscope. This microscope allows us to individualize periodontal (gum) therapy based on what we actually see in real time. In many cases, this early detection of harmful bacteria can prevent tooth loss and other systemic health issues.
Digital X-Rays
Enables us to provide greatly improved diagnostic capabilities to our patients while significantly lessening their exposure to radiation by up to 80% over the old film x-rays.
Diagnodent
Laser-assisted early cavity detection with diagnodent. This technology precisely detects tooth decay in its early stages, many times before it can be recognized by other means. Fillings for cavities that are caught sooner can often be smaller, which allows us to use minimally invasive filling techniques and preserve more natural tooth.
