Veneers San Antonio

veneers-san-antonio-txAre you bothered by chipped or stained front teeth? Do you wish that the teeth that show when you smile were shaped differently? Veneers cover teeth to alter shape, size, and color and optimize your smile.

Porcelain veneers

Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin, tooth colored shells that are designed to match your natural teeth to provide a seamless dental repair that is virtually undetectable. Created by hand from lifelike, stain-resistant, and durable dental porcelain; the porcelain reflects light like natural tooth enamel for a stunning smile. Porcelain veneers are permanently bonded to teeth, so some enamel removal is required prior to placement. Porcelain is stain resistant, and is the perfect material to match to neighboring teeth that do not require repair. Veneers can be made to protect one or several teeth. Veneers will be cemented to the front of teeth requiring repair. The natural teeth to be fitted with veneers will have impressions made so the dental lab can fabricate the covers. The size, contour, and color will be identical to your natural teeth.

On your big day, Dr. Huriega will temporarily place the veneers to make sure they look and fit perfectly. Minor adjustments can be completed as needed at that time.

The front of teeth to receive veneers will have a small amount of dental enamel removed about the thickness of the veneer. The tooth surface is made rough to enhance the ability of the cement to keep veneers in place. A curing light or laser is used to harden the cement. Treated teeth are strengthened, and are permanently enhanced providing a smile makeover for a wonderful first impression.

Conditions Treated with Porcelain veneers

Intrinsic Stains

These are stains deeply ingrained into teeth that do not respond to any other treatment. They can be the result of illness, some medications, or any variety of reasons.

Chipped or Broken Teeth

A veneer can make a chipped tooth appear whole again.

Misshapen, Crooked or Worn Down Teeth

Veneers can make your smile symmetrical without undergoing years of alternative treatment.

Poor Teeth Spacing

Gaps between teeth can seem to close instantly with the help of veneers.

Gum Recession

This is not only unattractive, but can result in discomfort when dentin is exposed to hot, cold, sweet, or sour.

Dental veneers have become a popular option for cosmetic dentistry in the last few years because of their versatility and the relatively non-invasive process used to apply them.

A brief consultation with Dr. Huriega will identify if your smile can be enhanced with porcelain veneers. Most patients can benefit with this procedure that can take as few as two weeks to complete your dental makeover. After an evaluation of your specific requirements, Dr. Huriega will decide which option – porcelain veneers or lumineers – is right for you. Contact us today to get started.
